Horseback trip through the mountains of Northern Spain, in the Natural Parks of Babia, Somiedo and Las Ubiñas. A protected, rugged, little known area, passing through alpine meadows, mountain lakes and old forests where bears and wolves still roam.

Practical data

Total 7 days – 5 on horseback, for a minimum group of 4 riders, maximum of 8 riders. In private group or by joining a shared group on the announced dates. All our itineraries are adaptable and can be customized to meet the traveller´s requirements.

Accommodation in small rural hotels. Options for non-riding companions.

Price: based on group size, dates chosen and final itinerary (approximate: €400-€500 per person per night, all-inclusive).

Note: Riding level required: medium-high, with experience in trail riding; full days (5-7 hr/day) on horseback. It is necessary to be able canter on open terrain and mount and dismount easily, as sometimes the terrain is rough and it is better to lead the horse on foot. This trip requires an overall good fitness level and an understanding of the uncertainties that may arise when traversing through mountainous areas.

Horseback trip through the mountains of Northern Spain, in the Natural Parks of Somiedo and Las Ubiñas-La Mesa. A little known protected area, passing through alpine meadows, mountain lakes and old forests where bears and wolves still roam.

The route goes through a mosaic of landscapes that combines steep mountain passes and landscapes shaped by traditional uses, free range livestock, historic roads and ancient villages high in the mountains. A remote area that still retains its authenticity. We will rest in small rural hotels and enjoy the famous traditional cuisine of this area.
